A Reading by authors
Taylor Personeau and Bill Clutter
Taylor Pensoneau will read excerpts from his newest novel in his series on investigative reporter Jake Brodsky, introducing a new character, PI Mason Clutter from Louisville, Kentucky. Taylor will then read the foreword he wrote for PI Bill Clutter’s debut book about his investigation of Taylorville, Illinois’s childhood cancer epidemic that followed the towns exposure to coal tar. Clutter will read Chapter 12 Democracy that tells the story of the start of his career as a private investigator after serving the Voting Rights Act lawsuit filed by attorney Michael Metnick. A panel discussion will follow featuring Frank McNeil, the person who filed that lawsuit, challenging a Jim Crow era commission form of municipal government.
Emmy nominated Filmmaker Ron Zimmerman will end the evening with a sneak preview of the bogeyman
A fundraiser to support Investigating Innocence, a not-for-profit national organization of private investigators devoted to freeing innocent people from prison.
